SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 18
(By Senators Anderson and Whitlow)
Congratulating the Mercer Christian Academy girls' basketball
team for winning the state Class A girls' basketball
championship.
Whereas, The Mercer Christian Academy girls' basketball
team participated in and won the state Class A girls'
basketball championship for the second consecutive year; and
Whereas, The Mercer Christian Academy girls' basketball
team has been recognized for two consecutive years for the best
sportsmanship at the state tournament; and
Whereas, The Mercer Christian Academy girls' basketball
team is headed by coach John O'Neal and his assistants, Kenny
Mandeville and Nick Weaver; and
Whereas, The outstanding sportsmanship and dedication of
each of the team players contributed to 1994 Mercer Christian
Academy girls' basketball team's championship win; therefore,
be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates the Mercer Christian
Academy girls' basketball team for winning the 1994 state Class
A girls' basketball tournament for the second consecutive year;
and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby requested to
forward a copy of this resolution to head coach John O'Neal;
his assistants, Kenny Mandeville and Nick Weaver; and to Larry
Deeds, administrator of the Mercer Christian Academy.
